Does CBD Help With Joint Pain?
The most important points in brief
- Whether osteoarthritis, arthritis or rheumatism: joint pain is a widespread disease that many people suffer from.
- Often those affected do not know how to alleviate joint pain and thus also their despair.
- Scientific studies show that CBD can have anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
- There is also new hope for people with joint pain.
Regardless of whether you suffer from rheumatism, arthritis or osteoarthritis, sometimes every movement, no matter how small, causes your joint pain to speak up. Because sitting or lying motionless is out of the question in the long run and the pain doesn't necessarily get better, the question is: what to do? If pain pills are not supposed to be a permanent solution, then try CDB.
CBD controls the body's own receptors
Cannabidiol, the full name of the (noise-free) active ingredient contained in cannabis, has only been taken more seriously by science in recent years. Accordingly, there are now some clinical studies on CBD, which is mostly taken in the form of capsules or as an oil. And the more the researchers investigate, the more potentially beneficial properties of CBD emerge.
It has only recently been shown that cannabidiol has an influence on our endocannabinoid system. The substance activates the CR receptors associated with the system. This in turn triggers a regulation of various processes in the body, which makes the organism more balanced. CR receptors activated in this way by CBD ensure that the perception of pain is relieved. But that's not all.
Cannabidiol not only combats the symptoms
Because CBD not only alleviates the symptoms, but also addresses the causes. Because in rheumatism, arthritis or osteoarthritis, inflammation is often the trigger for the pain that occurs. And the anti-inflammatory properties of cannabidiol can often directly relieve the inflammation that is often caused by one's own immune system and leads to joint pain.
Whether rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis: Joint pain can arise in the hip, in the knees or in the joints in the finger. In addition to the pain itself, this often causes stiffness, often swelling and almost always a restriction of freedom of movement. Laboratory rats, for example, have shown that CBD can help. Another study carried out on animals was able to show that cannabidiol often has a very good effect on osteoarthritis.
Good results with several CBD products
Usually, CBD oil is used as the basis for the production of other items containing CBD, for example CBD ointments, CBD mouth sprays or CBD capsules. As far as effectiveness is concerned, studies in 2016 and 2017 showed that the use of CBD creams - applied to the skin - regularly had a good effect against inflammation and joint pain. And even CBD mouth sprays can relieve pain if you have arthritis.
Unfortunately, there are not yet enough studies that would justify approval of CBD products as medicines for joint pain - but at some point it should be ready. Then our four-legged pets will also benefit, because just like humans, cats and dogs can develop joint pain at an advanced age. By the way, CBD as an active ingredient is very safe to use and only rarely leads to slight side effects (e.g. tiredness or diarrhea).
